Prayer is perhaps the most important and essential thing in a Christian's life, where one can enjoy intimacy with God.

We have been living in difficult times, and we know by the light of the Bible that in the end times love would cool off.

Praying brings us closer to God. It is through praying without ceasing that we put our lives in the center of God's will. It is by putting on His armor and praying without ceasing.

We must pray for everything and everyone, after all we are brothers and sisters, and we want God's blessings to fall on everyone, especially our family.

The importance of powerful prayer for children

However, it is extremely important to pray for our children. "Arise, cry out in the night at the beginning of the watches; pour out your heart like water before the presence of the Lord; lift up your hands to him for the lives of your little children, who are faint with hunger at the entrance of every street." (Lamentations 2:19)

To pray for one's children can be said to be a duty and a commitment of every Christian to God, to give thanks for the opportunity to be a parent, to ask Him to always watch over the most precious asset, no matter at what age.

But how to pray in the right way?

The answer is simple is to literally surrender everything to God and ask him to instruct your powerful prayer for your children.

1. Pray for His Protection

"But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;" (Matthew 5:44)

Pray that the Lord God Almighty will keep and preserve them in their ways, at work, study, activities, and in their daily lives. May they be protected from any evil.

As mothers and fathers, if we could we would be by our children's side 24 hours a day. But we have our chores, our jobs, studies, and ourselves to take care of.

Unfortunately, as much as we would like to, it is not possible to be with our children 24 hours a day. This is when our faith comes into action. To pray without ceasing for his protection is to put before God the life, health and protection of your child.

It is trusting that God Almighty, who does not sleep, is sending his angels with drawn sword to care and watch over the lives of our children.

Where we cannot be, where we cannot act is the place that God in his omnipotence acts. God is the best bodyguard we can have for our children.

So ask every day when you wake up and when you go to sleep, that God will PROTECT your child's life.

2. Be grateful for the life of your Son.

Be grateful for the opportunity to have given birth to a person who is first of all a child of God; be grateful for your child's life and consecrate him/her before the Lord every day.

We know that no prayer remains without reaching the heart of God. Parents have received from God the authority to care for their children with special grace to fulfill this mission.

The greatest gift is life. Give thanks every day for the privilege you had to bear your child. He is a gift in your life. God never stops listening to a grateful heart.

Know that your gratitude exudes unparalleled love. "You created every part of my body; You formed me in my mother's belly. I praise You because You are to be feared. Everything you do is wonderful and I know it very well. You saw when my bones were being made, when I was being formed in my mother's belly, growing there in secret, You saw me before I was born. The days you gave me to live were all written in your book when as yet none of them existed." (Psalms 139:13-16)

3. By Sanctification

Therefore, ask for the life of your child, no matter the age, if he/she is younger, may God enlighten his/her path to do good, to the older ones, ask for discernment and good choices to continue on the divine path; "And to... my son, give a perfect heart, to keep your commandments, your testimonies, and your statutes; and to do everything...." (I Chronicles 29: 19)

It is from a young age that we must teach him the ways of the Lord, so that he keeps every word in his heart and has the fear of God. Praying for the sanctification and surrender of our children to the Lord is essential for them to grow in righteousness and wisdom.

4. Pray that he never forgets God and His commandments

Pray and always surrender everything to the father, ask that your son or daughter never forget God, that he or she pray and be always in the Father's intimacy.

"Pray without ceasing." (I Thessalonians 5:17)
