God the Father,<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n Sometimes my heart longs for all the things I think I don't have, instead of valuing the blessings You give. Today, I choose to surrender all my desires and instead rest in Your love. In Psalm 46:10 , you exhort us to recognize your glory, telling us, \"Be still and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.\" Your glory is enough - you are enough. As You told your son Joshua when he was about to enter the Promised Land thousands of years ago, You will never leave us or forsake us. We can trust You, and You will protect and provide for us.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n Help me to rest in that love and to feel the peace You provide rest in my bones today and every day. I love You, Lord.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n Amen<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Of the various prayer requests, one is particularly precious, that of the Spirit, to which is associated a beautiful promise: \"If you know how to give good things to your children, how much more will not the heavenly Father give-he the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!\"<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n The promise of the Spirit is the promise of an indwelt promise. We have all experienced dry prayer, in which we feel that we are speaking only to ourselves.
